德國EOS公司自1989年以來一直致力於雷射粉末燒結快速成型系統的研究開發與設備製造工作。現在，EOS公司已經成為全球最大的雷射粉末燒結快速成型系統的製造商，所擁有的雷射燒結技術也正是未來e-manufacturing的核心技術。

e-manufacturing是由EOS公司所倡導，基於雷射粉末燒結快速成型技術的全新製造概念。這是指從數位檔案直接進行快速的、彈性的、低成本的製造方式。這種製造方式能夠符合從單件產品製造到大量的個性化產品生產的不同需求。
